Evaluation Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Conventions of the genre crime and action are what we are stereotypically trying to portray. In crime and action films, there are many conventions which we have tried to meet and put into are film opening. These conventions consist of the props used and costumes. Stereotypically in crime and action films characters wear costumes that can be representative of working class teenagers such as hoodies, adidas clothing, and white trainers. The props used in our film opening is a convention of crime films as our props consist of the use of passing drugs and smoking. Also our film has relatively fast cutting between scenes which is also a feature of an action film.  Titles in  action films seem to be blocked capital as this makes the film look militarised and technological. This is why it may catch the eyes of young teenage boys as stereotypically these are the films they are interested in. We used ideas and conventions of the crime genre from the film 'Se7en'. we took ides from the enigmatic atmosphere in this film and tried to apply it to our film opening.

  1. You must catch up with the rest now Tony. You are too far behind and these answers so far are much too brief and lack any multi-media/high level ICT skills (both of which you are marked on). Write up the answers on paper, or come in during lunchtimes if access to a computer is the issue still. Level 1 evaluation currently.
